Jarka. Pogoda dopisywała, świeciło słońce I WIAŁO Z MOCĄ. Niech ten silny wiatr umacnia i przypomina młodym o sile Ducha Świętego, który niech prowadzi naszą grupę swoimi szlakami.

International Night at the Academy

On Friday evening, October 19, 2012, the teachers and student body of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Academy presented their annual International Night in the school’s spacious auditorium. For a donation of $5.00, parents, relatives, friends and guests learned about many noteworthy historical and cultural events, structures and persons of countries around the globe, such as France, China, Colombia, Spain, Ireland, and the United States. They also enjoyed a spirited performance of song and dance, characteristic of other countries. Students researched their particular country from a variety of sources and compiled the information into a cohesive whole. In many instances, they wore native costumes, either original or home-made by teachers or parents.  During the intermission in the rear of the auditorium, all had an opportunity to purchase coffee and cake, home-made in most cases, for the benefit of the Drama Club.

interesting picture…

oleksiak On one of the Polish Website on culture you can read an article about a Polish artist. There is also this picture. Do you recognize the place on the picture? Of course it is our St. Stanislaus Kostka school auditorium!!!  Mrs. Agata Oleksiak, Polish-born, New York-based artist has spent the last eight years enveloping everything from bicycles to Wall Street’s "Charging Bull" sculpture to her own East Village apartment in a camouflage-patterned crochet.

PARISH PICNIC

Saturday, September 18 is the day on the liturgical calendar on which the Patron Saint of our Parish, St. Stanislaus Kostka is honored. This is also a special day for our parish and each one of us, who is spiritually connected to this Church in Greenpoint. To honor our Patron Saint, we would like to prepare the best possible celebration on Sunday, September 19. As part of the celebration, a parish picnic is being planned. We would like this celebration to be a joyous event for all of us to share. Let every child, young adult and adult find something enjoyable on that day. For that reason, we turn to all parish organizations and individuals for help in organizing this event. Please contact the rectory office at (718) 388-0170 to volunteer and offer your much needed help.
On Monday, August 30, 2010 at 7:30 PM at the Rectory there will be a meeting to create an organizing committee and create a program for the day. Let us all assume some responsibility for the spiritual and social life of our parish.
