Krakowianki i Górale

Mother’s Day with the Krakowianki i Gorale children folk group..

(więcej / read more)

DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY

milosierdzieToday we celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday…    Join us for the Devotion at 3 PM!

Jesus gave the instructions for the feast Feast of Mercy to Saint Faustina and she faithfully recorded them in her diary.  Jesus said that “the Feast of Mercy was a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners” (Diary 699).

(Diary 206)  Jesus said “On the day of My feast, the Feast of Mercy, you will go through the whole world and bring fainting souls to the spring of My mercy.  I shall heal and strengthen them.

Jesus said that the loss of each soul plunges Him into mortal sadness (Diary 1397).  If we don’t do our very best to “go” out and evangelize poor sinners, inviting them to the feast, then we are not really helping Jesus with His deepest desire to save these poor sinners.  Adoration is good, the Chaplet is good, but on the Feast of Mercy don’t you think that Jesus would rather have us focus on trying to get the worst of sinners to His feast so that He can heal and strengthen them?  (więcej / read more)

Palm Sunday

The History of Palm Sundaypalms2

Beginning in the fourth century in Jerusalem, Palm Sunday was marked by a procession of the faithful carrying palm branches, representing the Jews who celebrated Christ’s entrance into Jerusalem. In the early centuries, the procession began on the Mount of the Ascension and proceeded to the Church of the Holy Cross.

As the practice spread throughout the Christian world by the ninth century, the procession would begin in each church with the blessing of palms, proceed outside the church, and then return to the church for the reading of the Passion according to the Gospel of Matthew. (więcej / read more)

Mass for the Unborn

u1Mass for the Unborn sponsored by the Knights of Columbus was celebrated at St Stanislaus Kostka church in Brooklyn on Saturday, March 25th, 2017 on the Solemnity of Annunciation. This day is  know also as The International Day of the Unborn Child.

First officially celebrated in Argentina in 1999 under the Pontificate of Pope John Paul II, this day is a celebration of the value and dignity of every human person from the moment of conception, as well as a day of remembrance for those unborn children who have lost their lives to the violence of abortion.

The Holy Father linked this day to the feast of the Annunciation to honor the day when God was conceived and became an unborn child in the womb of Our Blessed Mother. Though celebrated in conjunction with the feast of the Annunciation, the Day of the Unborn Child is not an exclusively Catholic or Christian event. Any pro-life group, whether affiliated with a faith or not, is welcome and encouraged to participate in local events or form their own events to celebrate human life. (więcej / read more)
