The Polish Community in New York celebrates today the “May 3rd Constitution Day”. May 3rd Constitution was the FIRST written democratic constitution in Europe, and the world’s second, after the United States Constitution. The May 3rd Constitution was adopted by the Sejm of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth on May 3, 1791. We are proud of our heritage.
Last Sunday, after the Solemn Mass at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church a special Academy was held at the Polish National Home on Driggs Ave in Greenpoint.
