Priesthood….

            A little about priesthood  through many years . . .  Jubilees….

The mass media, writes or speaks about priests, only when they discover in him a human weakness.  And then, not only does the priest and his infractions get unreasonably publicized, but also the church and priesthood are unduly criticized as well.  This is done because someone is not comfortable with priesthood as a result of his own battle with Christ.  If someone cannot find fault with the Savior, they try to destroy the Church by emphasizing the human weakness of those who serve the Savior.  During the past Year of the Priest, however, we bowed our heads before the Majestic Lord and thanked Him for the beautiful gift of Christ’s Priesthood given to ordinary people.  In this gift bestowed upon His servants is included God’s Love of people, His caring for their souls and great strength.  Thanks to this Strength, priests are able to dedicate their lives for the glory of God and for the salvation of the people.  Here are some examples of this dedicated service: Continue reading Priesthood….

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION

Last two Saturdays – May 8th and May 15th – were the days of celebration in our parish. 87 children, 3rd grade students from our school and our parish CCD program, received Jesus Christ,  the Body and Blood of the Lord, in Holy Communion for the first time in their lives. We congratulate them and we offer our prayers for their intentions. First Communion is considered one of the holiest and most important celebrations in a Roman Catholic’s life.  In order for anyone to receive communion, that person must be without sin and in a state of grace. Our children made their first confession, or the Sacrament of Penance, a few weeks before receiving their First Communion. Continue reading FIRST HOLY COMMUNION

Good Shepherd Sunday *** Niedziela Dobrego Pasterza

Today, Good Shepherd Sunday, is a special day for everyone in our parish. We celebrate World Day of Prayer for Vocations. We ask that we may be filled with joy and the Holy Spirit as we carry on the mission of Jesus, our Good Shepherd. Let us pray for one another that we may be strengthened in our Christian vocations as married and single people, priests, deacons, and religious. May our youth listen to God’s call and be encouraged to respond generously.

Dzisiejszą niedzielę przeżywamy w Kościele jako Światowy Dzień Modlitw o Powołania. Rozpoczyna się też Tydzień Modlitw o Powołania. Ciągle musimy prosić Jezusa Chrystusa – Dobrego Pasterza, aby nigdy nie zabrakło nowych pracowników w Bożej Winnicy. Musimy modlić się o dobre i liczne powołania kapłańskie i zakonne, o ludzi gotowych pójść przemieniać serca innych, podjąć trudne zadania wobec współczesnego świata. Mając wśród siebie kapłanów, mamy dostęp do niewyczerpanych Bożych łask płynących z sakramentów świętych.

Millenium Theater – Joseph

OUR PARISH IS ORGANIZING A TRIP  to the Millenium Theater to see a performance of „Joseph” (the one from the Book of Genesis, chapter 37 and next, not the husband of the Blessed Mother). Of all the characters in the Bible, perhaps Joseph is the best parallel to the character of Jesus that can be found. Dur-ing a time of an “eye-for-an-eye and a tooth-for-a-tooth” mentality, Joseph’s story of forgiveness and integrity has made this Bible story a timeless truth, inspiring genera-tions of men and women to walk uprightly in the midst of great temptation. This is a NEW production, amazing and unforgettable experience. Faithful and practicing Christian actors invite us to come and experience the Bible. Beautiful music, live singing, colorful costumes, live animals are only a few of the many attractions of this fantastic presen-tation. The cost of the tickets includes entrance to the theater and transportation via luxury coach bus. Departure on Saturday, March 20 at 11:30am from in front of the church. The price of the ticket is $95 per person.  Tickets are available by calling Ela at 1-718-389-2771, Beata at 917-825-5973 or at the parish rectory.

Wierzący i praktykujący aktorzy chrześcijańscy zapraszają nas do wspólnego przeżywania Biblii z czasów przed Chrystusem. Wspaniała muzyka, żywy śpiew, barwne kostiumy, żywe zwierzęta i wiele innych atrakcji, to tylko niektóre elementy tego fantastycznego przedstawienia. W cenie biletu wejściówka do teatru mieszczącego 3 tysiące widzów i przejazd wygodnym autobusem. Wyjazd w sobotę 20 marca o godzinie 11:30 sprzed kościoła. Bilet 95 dolarów od osoby. Bilety do nabycia u p. Eli 718-389-2771 i p. Beaty – 917-825-5973 oraz w kancelarii parafialnej.
