Your Holiness Pope Benedict XVI. We, priests and faithful members of St. Stanislaus Kostka parish in Brooklyn, NY, would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for the years of your dedicated leadership, for your fatherly love and great concern that you have shown to the people of the whole world during your pontificate.
Thank you for the spiritual, firm and loving care with which you have led us forward along this journey toward our salvation. You have done so much for the whole Church and for so many people of the world! Your resignation fills us with sadness. And yet, this manifestation of your great love and concern for the Church, your trust in God and your profound humility also fills us with admiration and filial esteem.
We thank you, Holy Father, for teaching us with your words and your deeds! Thank you for your witness of a life wholly dedicated to the service of Christ and the Church!
We would like you to know that you will always enjoy a special place in our hearts and prayers. May your new stage of life, a life dedicated to prayer, bring a lot of joy and happiness to you and to the whole Church many graces and blessings. May God bless you.
On Thursday February 28th, there will be a special Mass celebrated in Thanksgiving for the Pontificate of Benedict XVI on the last day of His Papacy. Mass will be in Polish at 7 PM.
W czwartek 28 lutego o godz. 19.00 będzie odprawiona msza św. dziękczynna za Pontyfikat Benedykta XVI. Zachęcamy do udziału w tej mszy św. ten dzień jest dniem Jego ustąpienia ze Stolicy Piotrowej. Wspierajmy Go naszymi modlitwami.

Na zakończenie zwyczajnego Konsystorzu Kolegium Kardynałów przed południem 10 lutego 2013 w specjalnym oświadczeniu wygłoszonym po łacinie Papież Benedykt XVI ogłosił rezygnację z Urzędu i ustąpienie ze Stolicy św. Piotra. z końcem lutego obecnego roku ze względu na wiek i siły. W historii Kościoła Katolickiego jest to druga abdykacja Papieża po ustąpieniu Celestyna V w 1294. Rezygnacja Papieża z urzędu jest możliwa na podstawie Kanonu 332 §2 Kodeksu Prawa Kanonicznego i Kanonu 44 §2 Kodeksu Kanonów Kościołów Wschodnich.
