Krakowianki i Górale w programie świątecznym

Img_1045mW niedzielę 9 grudnia 2012, działająca przy parafii Św. Stanisława Kostki w Brooklynie dziecięca grupa folklorystyczna “Krakowianki i Górale” przedstawiła wspaniały program świąteczny… International Night at the Academy

On Friday evening, October 19, 2012, the teachers and student body of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Academy presented their annual International Night in the school’s spacious auditorium. For a donation of $5.00, parents, relatives, friends and guests learned about many noteworthy historical and cultural events, structures and persons of countries around the globe, such as France, China, Colombia, Spain, Ireland, and the United States. They also enjoyed a spirited performance of song and dance, characteristic of other countries. Students researched their particular country from a variety of sources and compiled the information into a cohesive whole. In many instances, they wore native costumes, either original or home-made by teachers or parents.  During the intermission in the rear of the auditorium, all had an opportunity to purchase coffee and cake, home-made in most cases, for the benefit of the Drama Club.

The St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Academy Drama Club presented the musical Annie

Leapin’ lizards! The St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Academy Drama Club has completed another successful year! After very well received renditions of The King and I (2009) and Beauty and the Beast (2010), the June 3rd and 4th, 2011 performances of the musical Annie were met with many praises for a job well done. Our drama club is currently wrapping up its third year. Any student of S.S.K.C.A., in grades 5 through 8, interested in joining the club is welcome. The students have been working throughout the year, rehearsing twice a week, and putting a lot of effort into preparing for the end-of-the-year performances.

St. Stan’s Catholic Academy Presents The Annual Christmas Pageant

A lovely tradition took place in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church on the weekend of December 11-12, 2010.  Thirty-five students from St. Stan’s Catholic Academy presented their annual Christmas Pageant at the three English Masses:  5:30 PM on Saturday and 9:00 and 11:00 AM on Sunday.  Dressed in traditional First Christmas garb, children from grades 1-8 were shepherds, angels, kings, barn animals and the Holy Family.  The Holy Infant was a wax figure crafted by Polish artisans in Warsaw during the First World War.  The children’s choir sang traditional hymns in Polish and English, including “Silent Night,” “O Little Town of Bethlehem,” “Pojdzmy Wszyscy do Stajenki,” “The Friendly Beasts,” and “The Little Drummer Boy.”  Continue reading St. Stan’s Catholic Academy Presents The Annual Christmas Pageant
