COLLECTION OF GIFTS FOR THE CHILDREN
During the weekend of Dec. 10-11 there will be a collection of gifts for the children of ? “Hour House” located in Long Island City. The types of gifts needed will be located on the paper stars on the Advent Christmas trees located in the upstairs and downstairs of the church. We will be collecting the gifts in St. Stan‘s Academy on Newel Street this year. They can be dropped off in the school office during school hours, 8:30am – 4pm. During the weekend of Dec. 10-11 please bring them to the Academy from 5pm – 7pm on Dec. 10 and 8:30am – 1:00pm on Dec. 11. We kindly ask that the gifts be delivered unwrapped as the staff of ?Hour? House will need to determine what gifts will go to what specific child. Thank You.
Our parish collects non-perishable food donations for an area food bank. Please make sure that you bring a non-perishable food item or more with you next time you come to church. Place your donation near the St. Vincent de Paul side altar on the left hand side of the church (near the elevator entrance). Let us feed those who go hungry every day.
SPECIAL RAFFLE FOR THE POOR IN THE MISSIONS
The Friends of the Missions Society in our parish is organizing a raffle with the winner to be drawn on Sunday, December 18, 2011. The proceeds of the raffle will be designated to assist missionaries who care for the destitute in dire need of help. In preparation for Christmas, it is especially important to remember others, our neighbors. We encourage everyone’s participation. For every donation we extend our sincere gratitude with the old-fashioned Polish "BÓG ZAPŁAĆ", MAY GOD REWARD YOU! Raffle tickets will be sold starting on the Feast of Christ the King, Sunday, November 20, 2011 after every Mass in the vestibule of the church and in the rectory during the week.
