On April 29 2012, on beautiful Sunday afternoon, which is a Good Shepherd Sunday, 122 young adults from St. Stanislaus Kostka, Sts. Cyril and Methodius, Our Lady of Consolation parishes and St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Academy in Brooklyn, NY, received the seal of the Holy Spirit. Auxiliary Bishop Octavio Cisneros presided at mass and administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to the young adults. The Holy Eucharist was concelebrated by five priests and the church was crowded with family members and guests. Children’s choir under the direction of our organist Małgorzata Staniszewska and her friends, musicians, provided appropriate music. You are asked to pray for all who have received the sacrament and their sponsors.
Thirty-seven Confirmation candidates from St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Academy and the religious education program, together with their sponsors, gathered for Sunday liturgy at 9:00 AM in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church on Sunday, March 4, 2012. In his homily, Rev. Joseph Szpilski, the celebrant, reminded both candidates and sponsors of their spiritual relationship and responsibilities. Father Joe encouraged all to be faithful to God’s Commandments of Love as proof of their commitment to Jesus and as a sign of their Christian discipleship. Towards the end of the Mass, each candidate approached the altar to receive a Holy Spirit cross medallion to wear on the day of Confirmation and everyday after that as an outward sign of full membership in the Catholic Church.

Thirty-five seventh-grade candidates for Confirmation and their sponsors gathered in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Brooklyn, for liturgy at 9:00 A.M. on Sunday, March 6, 2011. At this special Mass, the sponsors acknowledged that the students were “worthy to be admitted to the sacrament of Confirmation” on Sunday, March 27, 2011. Thirty-five students, 27 from St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Academy and 8 from the English Religious Education Program, were enrolled in the Confirmation Preparation Program of St. Stan’s Parish at the 9:00 AM Mass on World Mission Sunday, October 24, 2010. Parents and relatives of the students were present to support their children in the Confirmation process. Rev. Marek Sobczak, CM, pastor, was the celebrant and Rev. Joseph Szpilski, CM, the homilist.
