On Friday, May 31st, 2013, students of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Academy presented a wonderful musical and a spectacular show called the St. Stanislaus Animal Kingdom. 200 young artists sung, played, danced and acted for the audience which came. The Academy’s auditorium was packed with parents, family members and guests. All children wore colorful costumes of all sorts of animals. What was the most important? I believe that all children loved to perform their best. They were singing and dancing with energy and enthusiasm. We thank them all for wonderful night of music and dance. St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Academy Drama Club presented on Friday May 17th and Saturday May 18th Disney’s Aladdin. After months of practice, the day finally came for the drama club to present their version of Aladdin. For two nights, the St. Stan’s auditorium was transform into the magical land of Agrabah, City of Enchantment. As the students told the story of the street urchin (Aladdin), he discovers the magic lamp with a Genie that grants him three (3) wishes. Aladdin use this to his advantage to try be with the Princess, that he meets in the marketplace. At the end, Aladdin learned that was (OK) just to be himself. An enjoyable evening was had by all and we can thank the wonderful teachers (Ms. Zito and Ms. Kazes) and a crew for a job well done. Yesterday and today, June 11 and 12, 2012, the 3 and 4 year old Pre-K students of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Academy – enjoyed the last day of school. 11 students of 3 year old Pre-K and 20 4 year old Pre-K students presented their graduation programs and received their diplomas from Mrs. Christina Cieloszczyk, the Principal of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Academy and from Fr. Marek Sobczak, CM, a representative of the Board of Members of the Academy and the Pastor of St. Stanislaus Kostka parish.
After the welcome song, all the children recited their prayers – Our Father and Hail Mary and they said their Pledge of Allegiance (I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all). Children were applauded by parents, grandparents and guests.
Ms. Flugger and Mrs. Kamuda are teachers of 3 yo and Ms. Prestia and Mrs Kamuda teach Pre-K 4. They did a fabulous job with children. Congratulations and thank you.
So, St. Stan’s You Think You Can Dance? This was the title of the fantastic show by all students of the Academy presented on Friday, June 1st, 2012. Show was prepared under direction of music teacher, Ms. Bozena Konkiel. If you missed it, you missed a lot !

Many attractions – indoor and outdoor, rides, games, prizes, DJ, Polish food. Later in the afternoon opportunity to take photo on super bikes of the members of the Unknown Bikers Club from Greenpoint.

The St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Academy Drama Club has completed another successful year! After very well received renditions of The King and I (2009), Beauty and the Beast (2010), Annie (2011) the 2012 performances of the musical Grease were met with many praises for a job well done. Our drama club is currently wrapping up its fourth year. Any student of S.S.K.C.A., in grades 5 through 8, interested in joining the club is welcome. The students have been working throughout the year, rehearsing twice a week, and putting a lot of effort into preparing for the end-of-the-year performances. Saturday, May 12, 2012 was a very special day for the children in 3rd Grade at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Academy, as well as the children enrolled in the St. Stanislaus Kostka CCD Program. All 33 children anxiously arrived at school and then processed to church. This would be their first time to receive Jesus in Holy Communion. The church was beautifully decorated with white flowers at the altar and white bows lining the pews for where the children would sit. On Monday, January 30, 2012, Bishop Frank Caggiano visited St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Academy as we began our annual celebration of Catholic Schools Week. He was accompanied by Sr. Kathleen Finnerty, the Associate Superintendent for Governance of the diocese. Fr. Marek Sobczak, our pastor, and Frank Carbone, the chairman of our Board of Directors, were also present.
The visit began with a tour of our school during which the bishop visited every classroom. He was very impressed with our students and how engaged they were in their lessons, their excitement at using the Smartboard during the lessons, the variety and quality of their work that was displayed in the halls, and their model behavior.
