Some individuals have noticed that the statue of St. John the Baptist has disappeared from the main altar. After its restoration, it will return to its proper place near the baptismal font. He has switched places with St. Barbara, who stood there. And, why did St. Barbara wander onto the main altar? The patron saint of our parish owes her a debt of gratitude. While he was in Vienna circa the year 1565, he was very ill and expecting to die soon, so he wanted to receive Holy Communion. The owner of the building would not allow a Catholic priest to enter the building. Thus he turned to St. Barbara, patron saint of a peaceful death, who appeared in his room accompanied by two angels and brought him Communion.
