The St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Academy Drama Club has completed another successful year! After very well received renditions of The King and I (2009), Beauty and the Beast (2010), Annie (2011) the 2012 performances of the musical Grease were met with many praises for a job well done. Our drama club is currently wrapping up its fourth year. Any student of S.S.K.C.A., in grades 5 through 8, interested in joining the club is welcome. The students have been working throughout the year, rehearsing twice a week, and putting a lot of effort into preparing for the end-of-the-year performances. Friday, June 17, 2011 was the Graduation Day for 24 students of the first ever graduation class of the St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Academy in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. It was a greatly anticipated event for them. Dressed in graduations gowns they processed from the school to the church followed by their teachers and parents. At the church door they were greeted by priests and altar serves who led them to the altar.
The ceremony started with the concelebrated Mass of thanksgiving for graces received during years of study and with pleas for graces and God’s blessings for the future. The presider was the Pastor of St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish and member of the Academy’s Board of Members, Rev. Marek Sobczak, CM. who also addressed the graduates with special homily. Father Robert Czok, pastor of the aligned parish of St. Anthony and member of the Academy’s Board of Members, concelebrated the Mass.
