Students of our Academy together with almost six million students from 40 countries, and more than 6,000 students from the USA participated in this year’s international mathematics Olympics -Kangaroo. Participation in such events not only increases mathematical knowledge but creates interaction among students with the same interests, personal satisfaction from achievements and promotes self-motivation.
The test was held at the same time all over the world. Ours was held at the Korean Center in Queens at 6:30pm. The test took 75 minutes and the mathematical problems varied in difficulty. Calculators were not permitted. At the end of the test, children were given a T-shirt and a certificate of participation. Prizes for winners also varied from free participation in international mathematics camps, with the highest scoring students receiving scholarships.
Wednesday, June 15, 2011 was a great night for the Kindergarten students of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Academy. 17 students presented their graduation programs and received their diplomas from Mrs. Christina Cieloszczyk, the Principal of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Academy and from Fr. Marek Sobczak, CM, a representative of the Board of Members of the Academy and the Pastor of St. Stanislaus Kostka parish.
Yesterday and today, June 13 and 14, 2011, the 3 and 4 year old Pre-K students of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Academy – enjoyed the last day of school. 15 students of 3 year old Pre-K and 18 4 year old Pre-K students presented their graduation programs and received their diplomas from Mrs. Christina Cieloszczyk, the Principal of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Academy and from Fr. Marek Sobczak, CM, a representative of the Board of Members of the Academy and the Pastor of St. Stanislaus Kostka parish.
After the welcome song, all the children recited their prayers – Our Father and Hail Mary and they said their Pledge of Allegiance (I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all).

Thirty-five students, 27 from St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Academy and 8 from the English Religious Education Program, were enrolled in the Confirmation Preparation Program of St. Stan’s Parish at the 9:00 AM Mass on World Mission Sunday, October 24, 2010. Parents and relatives of the students were present to support their children in the Confirmation process. Rev. Marek Sobczak, CM, pastor, was the celebrant and Rev. Joseph Szpilski, CM, the homilist.
On Friday evening, October 22, 2010, the teachers and student body of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Academy presented their annual International Night in the school’s spacious auditorium. For a donation of $5.00, parents, relatives, friends and guests learned about many noteworthy historical and cultural events, structures and persons of countries around the globe, such as Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, England, Italia, and the United States.
